ECO FENCES

 When building a new fence, it's important to use materials that are either sustainably sourced or recycled to reduce your environmental impact.
From traditional wood fences made from sustainable lumber to composite fences made from recycled materials, there are numerous options when building an eco-friendly fence. Eco-friendly fences include: bamboo fences; composite fences; living fences; stone fences; wood fences; and metal fences.

BAMBOO
Bamboo is a reliable eco-friendly fencing product. It is a renewable resource which is strong and durable. Bamboo is twice as strong as cedar. Bamboo is also resistant to termites, which cannot digest the silica found in bamboo. Bamboo fences cost less than traditional fencing materials.

COMPOSITE
Composite materials are made from recycled plastic and wood fiber. Composite materials do not require painting or staining like traditional fencing products. They are durable and easy to maintain. A composite fence materials provide a natural-looking barrier that is durable, insect-resistant, and weather-resistant.

LIVING FENCES
Living fences are trees spaced close together and connected by wire. Living fences can also be natural hedges made from plants placed close together to grow into a connected, living wall. A living fence is a wonderful natural barrier that has a low environmental impact; filters air pollution; denotes property lines; and provides habitat connectivity.

STONE
Stone is a great natural material to use for a fence. Stone fences last a long time and require minimal maintenance. Stone is resistant to rot, decay, and insect damage.

WOOD
Wood is a renewable resource and material. Wood is one of the most eco-friendly materials for building fences. Wood can be reused or recycled, and is biodegradable and will not clutter landfills.

METAL
Metal is a solid eco-friendly choice when deciding what your fence material will be. Some metal fences are made from recycled materials, and are recyclable themselves. Metal is extremely durable and low-maintenance. Metal fence material includes: aluminum, steel, chain link, and wrought iron. Aluminum is a lightweight metal that is resistant to rust and corrosion, making it a good option for coastal areas. Steel is strong, durable, and low maintenance. Wrought iron is beautiful and long-lasting. Do not use razor wire or barb wire on metal fences. Make sure the metal fence is built so it does not harm wildlife.
